I'm In A TRIO!!!

Image
Olá a todos!!! It's my 4th week in the HMTC and I'm loving it!  This week's email is going to be kind of short because there wasn't much that happened. My new instructors this week have been awesome!  I've learned a lot just from being able to listen to more Portuguese.  Sometimes we don't even know what they are saying and there are some awkward silences in class haha but we make the best of it! I've been speaking more Portuguese outside of class.  I speak it around the house and my companion and I made it a goal to try and speak as much Portuguese as possible during our studies.  It's been hard and I have used quite a bit of google translate, but you have to start somewhere right?! On Wednesday Sister Matsen and I got a new companion, Sister Bancroft...which makes us a TRIO!  There were four of us sisters in the district but one of the other sisters got transferred to a different district.  So that was sad this week, but it has been so fun bei...

Goodbyes and New Challenges!

Olá amigos e família!! Cannot believe I am sending another email!  This week flew by!   Just another week in the MTC.  It's still the same old schedule.  Studies in the morning, class, more class, more studies, and so on. This week was our last week with our instructors and let me tell you I miss them so much already! Irmão Corrêa and Irmã Cruz were THE BEST INSTRUCTORS EVER!  They have helped me in so many ways both in Portuguese and learning to be a missionary.  It was so hard to say goodbye to them!  We got two new instructors for this next week and the rest of MTC and they speak ONLY Portuguese, so bye bye English (at least in my classes haha). We had been working on a little green pamphlet called Basic Core which I think I mentioned in one of my previous emails.  It has 6 tasks with 5-6 phrases and some extra vocabulary words to memorize.  Well that's another thing we said goodbye too lol.  Now we've moved onto Intermediat...

First FULL Week of MTC!

Olá amigos e família!! It was my first full week of classes and let me tell ya...it has worn me out!  As busy as each day is, they surprisingly go by pretty fast.  I mean it's already another p-day!  We have two 3ish hour classes a day as well as all my studies...personal, companion, and language.  So my day is pretty full! I'm continuing to learn new things each and every day, both for missionary work and in the language.  Understanding the language is harder for me than speaking it.  I can read it pretty well and speak fairly well, but there is always room for improvement! My district keeps me laughing throughout the week which helps the days go by.  We decided this week to make all our backgrounds as a picture of one of our instructors and it gave us a good laugh throughout the whole class haha!  I'm so grateful for a district who makes me laugh and shows support!  I truly cannot do this without them!  Even though we can't be tog...
