Missionaries + Members = MIRACLES!

 Olaaaá!

Wow ,another week has gone by!  Cannot believe it!

This week was soooo much better than last!  The work we did this week was completely different and I have been able to see the Lord's hand!

My companion and I have felt that we have needed to work with the members more.  So we have gone through lists with all the sisters in the ward asking if we could call to get to know them and their families and then share a message.

Our message is from Alma 50:1-4 which talks about how Moroni fortifies the land of the Nephites, building timbers to protect them from the Lamanites.  We talk about how, while we aren't in a physical war, sometimes we are in a spiritual war and how we need to have strong timbers to protect us.  The timbers in a spiritual sense are the little things that we do each day...saying our prayers, studying the scriptures, listening to the words of the prophets, etc.

So we ask the members to pray together and think about someone that they could help and who may be in a "spiritual war."  From here, we hope to get some referrals from the members and get some new people to teach.

I have realized this week that members working with the missionaries and missionaries working with the members is SO important.  The missionaries can't do all of the work.  I have realized that that is why we are asked to do missionary work and service all the time -- even if we don't have a missionary tag on.

So with everything we have been doing with the members, I am excited to see what happens these next few weeks!

There have been many times this week that I have seen the Lord's hand in our day.  We are in a pretty hard area and have had a hard time finding new people to teach.  On the days where we haven't had a lot of contacts or lessons, my comp and I will say a quick prayer asking if we could just get a few more contacts and lessons.  By the end of the night, we were able to get what we wanted.  I know this is simple but the Lord has blessed us in so many ways!!

We work hard and I know he sees our efforts!  We put in our all and He makes up the rest!

Friday we had another zone conference so that was fun!!  We talked a lot about time and making the most of our time here on the mission.  My mission president said, "já que estou aqui...porque não?"  Which means "I am already here, why not?"  I loved hearing this and it was a good reminder to just keep going and then make the most of our time.

The street contacting stories continue...we were out one day and we are still trying to find different ways to start talking to people. My companion decided to walk to the end of the street and there was this big field that was all dirt.  The dirt here is a reddish color so she tells me, "isn't this dirt just so cool?"  There were some people outside and they kind of looked at us funny so the next thing my companion said was, "ah we are from the United States so we don't see this all the time."  And we ended up talking to these people for a while and got their contacts.  So I guess talking about chickens (from last week) and dirt can be a success in street contacting haha!

Ok I think that's all I got for this week!

Amo vocês!!  Love you all!!
