WE SET A BAPTISM DATE!

 Olá amigos e família!!

Another week here in Brazil!

On Wednesday we were on splits with the sister training leaders -- who were actually my first 2 companions when I got here to the mission.  They both came to our area so it was fun to have them for the day!

I was with Sister Alves and she taught me more about interacting with the people we teach and getting to know them more.  It was a little bit hard doing this because I couldn't understand their responses most of the time.  But it gave me some practice.

With that, I feel that sometimes I can speak the language pretty well, and I pick up on a few more things but for the most part, it is still a big struggle for me.  This week especially I had a hard time understanding people.  The beginning of the week was the hardest but it got a bit better by the weekend.

Sunday we got to go to two of our investigators houses.  The first was Lidia, Laurindo, and Wellington.  We read the Book of Mormon with them and read in 3 Nephi 11.

Before I get too far...while we were waiting for our lunch yesterday, we wrote our testimonies in a Book of Mormon to give to each investigator.  It was such a neat experience for me because it gave me a chance to reflect on my testimony of its truth.  I know, without a doubt, that the Book of Mormon is true.  It has changed my life in a way where I can always feel of God's love for me and I can feel the Spirit more in my life.  I become closer to Him and Jesus Christ each time I read and pray about its message.  As I have read the Book of Mormon each day these last few weeks, I have come to realize the importance of studying our scriptures each day.
I know that as we study and learn about his gospel and doctrine and the teachings of Christ, we can grow closer to God and Jesus Christ.

Then, later in the day we went to another investigator's house.  Her name is Silma.  We are teaching Silma and her husband Maciel, and their son Phelipe.  Yesterday it was just Silma and we read the Book of Mormon with her as well.  We read in Alma 32 and talked about faith and how our faith needs to continue to grow.  This all led to baptism and we talked how baptism is another step in growing our faith.

We bore testimony and invited her to be baptized next month!  She accepted!  We marked a date to set as a goal for her!

The rest of the week was as normal, not really much else to the week.

My companion and I have some pretty fun moments so that makes it easy and helps me get through the week.

Hope everyone is doing well!

Amo vocês!!!  Love you all!
