After 6.5 months, I finally...
Olá gente!! Tudo bem?!
This week felt really busy...I mean everyday is busy for missionaries but this week especially was crazy! The beginning of the week was normal with teaching and finding more people. We had some really good days this week with lessons, and teaching more in person! Other days, we had more online lessons.
Side note, teaching people in person is WAYYY better than online!! Some people we need to teach online because the neighborhood that they live in is 1 hour and 15 minutes to walk! And we don't have a ton of people in that neighborhood to teach, so it's hard to teach in person there. Others live closer to the church so it's a lot easier to teach in person.
Then, from Thursday night until today, it was just crazyyyy! Friday we had interviews with President in Rio Preto. So you know what that means...TRAVEL DAY!! We woke up about 5:30 and got all ready and headed out by 6:50. We got to the church in Rio Preto at about 8:45. While interviews were going, we had district counsel. There was a lot that I learned!!
One thing, we talked a lot about faith and how it's important to keep going and keep trying and ACT with faith. Now for missionaries, we talked about finding the "ELEITOS" as we say here, which are the people who are really ready to accept the gospel in their lives! We talked about how we don't know who these people are or where to find them. Sometimes those we talk to accept us and others don't. All of the rejection can be hard at times -- especially when it feels like everyone is saying no -- but this is when we have to keep trying! We have to believe that a miracle will happen!
A talk by Elder Uchtdorf called "Fourth Floor, Last Door" was mentioned. Which, this talk is AMAZING, so go read it, I highly suggest it!! But it talks about how a miracle could be the last thing that you do or the last thing that could happen. The "eleito" could be the very last person that we talk to.
So, we have to act in faith, trust that a miracle can happen, and keep trying!
Anyway we got done with everything in Rio Preto at like 4:30 pm and then we were back on the road. Then me and my companion had exchanges with the STLs. I stayed in my area and was with Sister Galvão! I was with her until Saturday night, where we took a bus back to my old area in Araçatuba! We got to the bus station at 9:00 pm and got to the house at like 10 pm. It was a short trip...but the rest of the night was a long one because I had to prepare my talk for church on Sunday.
So, I GAVE MY FIRST TALK IN CHURCH! I lasted 6.5 months on the mission without giving a talk lol!
Then Sunday morning early, me and my companion headed back to our area. We got to our apartment in time to get ready for church, finish our talks, and head out the door.
So yeah, that was all the craziness...may not sound as crazy as it was haha but let's just say I'm happy for pday!
This is the last week of the transfer! Crazy another one has passed by so quickly! So, I may not be able to get an email out next week...I'm not sure yet. But that's all for today!
Amo muito vocês!! Love you all! Hope is everyone is doing well!
