Wooooaaahhhh I'm HALF WAY there!!!

 Hello everyone!!! How is everyone doing?!

Happy pday!!  Can't believe it's another pday!
This week was good!  To start, I HIT MY NINE MONTH MARK...HALF WAY!!  How is this possible?  I literally feel like last month I was starting the mtc. Wow, time flies by so fast!
To celebrate we got pizza, half calabresa and half frango com catipury!  Pizza here is sooo good! 
Second...we had a visitor with us this week.  Sister Tegerdine!!!  One of my companions that I had like 6 months ago.  She is a traveling stl here in the mission so she gets to visit the sisters in the mission...and this week was our turn!!  I learned a lot about planning and how to improve teaching.  It was definitely a fun week with her!
Other than that, this week was pretty low key.  We are getting a tonnnnnn of referrals from social media, so we have had a bit of a hard time keeping up with them.  But we've got a good system now so hopefully that will help a lot. 
But yeah I think that's all from this week.  Sorry I've had some short emails these last few weeks, but até mais!!
Ok até mais is sooner than you think lol!! This part above is from the last week, so starting here is from this week! 
So this week was alright!  We had interviews in Ribeirão, so it was another travel day!  And this time we didn't miss our bus haha! 
While interviews were going on we had a district council and there was something we talked about was knowing about Christ. And how we have to know Christ to be able to teach others about Him and help them come unto Christ.  One of my zone leaders asked a question, "When was the last time you were close to Christ?" 
I had actually really thought about that and have started to really study and get close to Christ this week. I have started with chapter 6 in preach my gospel about Christlike attributes.  And something that I came across in my studies is following Christ and through following Him and His example that we feel His love and and we can be HAPPY!  
I read in John 13:1-17, and verse 17 says, "If ye know these things, HAPPY are ye if ye do them."  So, I thought that the only way to have true happiness is to follow Christ! 
I have absolutely LOVED studying about Christ and getting close to Christ.  I know that He is our Savior and that He loves us! He is always with us in everything we do! I am so grateful to be a missionary and to learn about the gospel! 
And the other big thing that happened this week, is we set two of our friends on date for baptism!  It is for this next Sunday, we are praying and trying really hard for them to be baptized!!  If you could keep this in your prayers, it would be really appreciated!

MTC Complete! Off to the field!

Olá!! This week was bittersweet and a roller coaster of emotions.   First thing was family goodbyes.  Last weekend was a time full of fun just being able to spend time with each other.  I'm grateful for my brothers who took the time to come home to spend the weekend with me.  I love them both sooo much and will miss them greatly!  The goodbyes were sooooo hard.  I feel like I just did this with their missions.  Second thing, it was my last week in the MTC :(  I can't believe 6 weeks have passed already.  I have loved every minute of it and I feel I learned so much!  While it was hard staring at my screen for 6+ hours a day, my district and my instructors made it worth it!  I love all of them so much!   We had such fun times in class whether learning how to teach a certain principle, playing connect 4, or learning slang terms to use in Brazil lol, we always made the best of the situation.  I'm so gratefu...

Choose to be Happy!

Oiii gente! This week went by so fast! This last week was full of trainings with our mission president and his wife.  Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday we had trainings.  It almost felt like I was back in the home mtc doing classes on zoom again haha. I couldn't understand much, only a little bit.  But from what I could understand, I learned about becoming an effective missionary and learned about repentance. My week, I felt like, was centered around repentance.  It started with my parent's emails to me.  During their stake conference, they had Elder Mike Jones there, and he said that "repentance begins when our behavior changes."  (Thanks dad for sending me this in your email!)  Looking back, this line had set the mood for the rest of the week.   Also, during one of our trainings, my mission president talked about how we need to have faith to repent.  True repentance cannot be done without faith in Jesus Christ and faith in the power of Chr...

New comp and new area!

  Oii meus amigos e família! This week has been a little crazy and a lot happened. Tuesday I actaully got transferred to a new area and a new companion.  Her name is Sister De Paula. We cover two areas since there's not a whole lot of missionaries here.  We are in Jardim Palmares and Jardinópolis.   Wednesday, we got up and did out studies and then had lunch.  After lunch we went to the church that is just up the street so we could work.  We go there everyday since we can get wifi while we work. Then Thursday was my first zone conference!  It was the first time being in person again since covid and it was fun to see all the missionaries there.  We had a day full of training and ate a yummy lunch! Side note, the food here is AMAZING!!!  We have rice and beans with every lunch with a type of meat and sometimes potatoes, and other things.  We get lunch delivered to us everyday so that is nice!  We get so much food I can't even eat...
