Happy Mother's Day

 Oiii gente!! Tudo bem? Como voces estão?

Sorry I have been the worst with emails these few weeks! It's been a little crazy!
First things first...FELIZ DIA DAS MÃES!! HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY!!  I hope you all had a great day yesterday!  I loved yesterday to be able to talk to my mom, the best part of the week!  Love you mom! 
First thing from these last few weeks...you know how a couple of weeks ago I said that I was going back to the heat?! Well, wrong lol!!  It's actually gotten cooler, really only during the night.  Like to the point where I am sleeping in a long sleeve shirt and some joggers!  Who knew a Colorado girl would get cold here haha!
Then this week, we had DIVISÃO!  Exchanges with the stls! It was really good!  I stayed in my area and was with Sister Rocha for a few days.  I've been struggling here in my area just with the people...we don't have a lot of people, so we did our best to really find some more people to teach.  Did we have some luck...not really, but the only thing to do is just keep going.
Then I was asked to speak in church!  My third time in almost 11 months haha!  I talked about ministering like Christ and how that's related to missionary work. 
When we minister to people, we show our love.  We can help people through our love.  Just like Christ, He did everything out of His love for people.  So, to minister like Christ, we need to love like Christ.  When we do this, we are spreading our light!  And we use our light to share the gospel!  Ministering is just one way to do the work of the Lord!  Sharing the gospel, we don't need a missionary tag, we just need to minister!!
Well, other than that...I've just been trying everyday, eating açaí, trying more the next, eating more açaí hahah!!

MTC Complete! Off to the field!

Olá!! This week was bittersweet and a roller coaster of emotions.   First thing was family goodbyes.  Last weekend was a time full of fun just being able to spend time with each other.  I'm grateful for my brothers who took the time to come home to spend the weekend with me.  I love them both sooo much and will miss them greatly!  The goodbyes were sooooo hard.  I feel like I just did this with their missions.  Second thing, it was my last week in the MTC :(  I can't believe 6 weeks have passed already.  I have loved every minute of it and I feel I learned so much!  While it was hard staring at my screen for 6+ hours a day, my district and my instructors made it worth it!  I love all of them so much!   We had such fun times in class whether learning how to teach a certain principle, playing connect 4, or learning slang terms to use in Brazil lol, we always made the best of the situation.  I'm so gratefu...

Choose to be Happy!

Oiii gente! This week went by so fast! This last week was full of trainings with our mission president and his wife.  Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday we had trainings.  It almost felt like I was back in the home mtc doing classes on zoom again haha. I couldn't understand much, only a little bit.  But from what I could understand, I learned about becoming an effective missionary and learned about repentance. My week, I felt like, was centered around repentance.  It started with my parent's emails to me.  During their stake conference, they had Elder Mike Jones there, and he said that "repentance begins when our behavior changes."  (Thanks dad for sending me this in your email!)  Looking back, this line had set the mood for the rest of the week.   Also, during one of our trainings, my mission president talked about how we need to have faith to repent.  True repentance cannot be done without faith in Jesus Christ and faith in the power of Chr...

New comp and new area!

  Oii meus amigos e família! This week has been a little crazy and a lot happened. Tuesday I actaully got transferred to a new area and a new companion.  Her name is Sister De Paula. We cover two areas since there's not a whole lot of missionaries here.  We are in Jardim Palmares and Jardinópolis.   Wednesday, we got up and did out studies and then had lunch.  After lunch we went to the church that is just up the street so we could work.  We go there everyday since we can get wifi while we work. Then Thursday was my first zone conference!  It was the first time being in person again since covid and it was fun to see all the missionaries there.  We had a day full of training and ate a yummy lunch! Side note, the food here is AMAZING!!!  We have rice and beans with every lunch with a type of meat and sometimes potatoes, and other things.  We get lunch delivered to us everyday so that is nice!  We get so much food I can't even eat...
