The Start of the Last Transfer! #5weeksleft
Heyyy everyone!! What's happenin'?!
Well today is another transfer day...and my last transfer day before coming home!! Crazy this time is already coming!
But...transfer news! I am staying in my area, Jardinópolis, and I will be with Sister McNames...and I will be a mom again! Both me and Sister McNames will be training a new Sister. So yes, I'll be a mother of 4!
These last few weeks have been absolutely crazy and busy! Lol!
To start, we have had a lot of pdays as a zone! We did a Halloween pday last week where we did some face paint hahaha and ate churrasco, yum!! It's been an absolute blast with my zone this transfer. All of our pdays have been superrr fun and I have loved that from this last transfer.
Other things...I was on exchanges again this last week! I led in my area and we had some fun haha. We had a day where we got lots of fruits...after lunch, the members gave us a banana to eat later while we were working. Then we went to a recent converts house and he gave us 4 mangoes...by the way I live in the "city of mangos" where there are a ton of mango trees haha. Anyway, exchanges were really fun!
But...other than that, things have been alright!
As a mission, we've been doing a challenge to read the Book of Mormon by Christmas day. I want to share something really interesting that I found.
This week we read Alma 36 where Alma talks to Helaman about his conversion story. The cool thing about this chapter is that Alma uses chiasmus to tell his story.
If you don't know what chiasmus is, here is a definition. "Chiasmus, sometimes called an inverted parallelism, is a Hebrew literary form where words or ideas are arranged in a certain order and then repeated in reverse order. This repetition emphasizes important ideas and words. In addition, the writer’s main idea is often located at the center of the chiasmus."
So Alma uses this in this chapter where the first thing he talks about is the last thing he talks about. Then the second thing is the second to last thing he talks about and so on. Following this pattern, we come to his central point, the message that he wants Helaman to understand. His central message is about Christ and everything starts to work out after Christ appears in his life.
I hope I explained this in a way that made sense lol, but I thought it was interesting to share today. I thought that it really is true that when Christ is in the center of our lives, everything turns out right! Christ makes our lives better! He is the light of our lives!!
It was such a spiritual experience for me this week because it was such a big reminder to always make Christ the center of my life! So this is what I will leave with you all today: ALWAYS make Christ the center of your life!
Well that's all for today! I hope everyone is doing well! Love you all!
