Happy Thanksgiving and A Copa do Mundo!!
This is 2 weeks worth of emails...
Hello!! Another week, another email!!
This week, I honestly couldn't even tell you exactly what happened. Everything happened so so fast, so everything that happened is just a blur!
But, this week we taught a bunch of lessons about the Restoration. We are in the process of finding new people to teach.
We will have a baptism this week, which WAHOO!!! We have been busy this week teaching him all the lessons. This week we taught about the commandments and we used the finger/hand gestures to teach them. And the kids absolutely loved them haha it was actually one of the funniest lessons that I taught here on my mission!
And we also have a friend who is superrr interested in the church! He came to church yesterday and LOVED IT!! So we want to ask him to be baptized soon, maybe this week! 🤞🤞
Other things that happened...
Me and my comps went to the hospital at 11:30pm...let me explain!
Wednesday night after we left from a lesson, one of my companions started having really bad pains in her stomach. It was so bad we couldn't even walk home. So we asked the Elders to call us an uber. Once we got home, she tried to sleep but the pain went on. By 11:30pm, the pain was so bad that she decided to go to the hospital.
So we got an uber and went to a hospital in Ribeirão. We got there at midnight, waited in the waiting area for about an hour until they took us back to get her checked out. But we just waited in the exam room for a bit longer until the doctor came in.
She gets checked out and they give her a saline bag with some medicine. So we waited until that finished and then we were good to go! Guess what time we left...3:30am! Then we got back to Jardinópolis at 4am...I didn't get any sleep at the hospital, so I almost pulled an all-nighter...but we got home and went straight to bed!!
We slept for a while and in the morning, my comp was all good and has been ever since!!
My comps and I don't believe that this happened haha!! It all happened so fast and seriously just feels like a dream!!
But no need to worry, we are all doing good now, back on our feet and working hard!
This week I studied in the Book of Mormon as I am doing the challenge for my mission. This week I learned a lot to trust in the Lord! He is always there for us and knows exactly what we need. He loves us and wants the best for us, but for us to see that we have to trust in Him.
Well, that's all I got for this week. Honestly couldn't remember much of what happened...like I said everything seems like a blur.
Ok by this point it has been another week!!
So first off, HAPPY THANKSGIVING!!! Hope you guys all had a wonderful Thanksgiving! I sure did haha we got to watch the Brazil game for the world cup! My mission President allowed it...this is what he said, "well no one is going to talk to you during the game time so you guys can watch the games!"
We were all super surprised that he allowed us to watch the games! So they played Serbia and Brazil won 2-0! Let's gooooo!!
This week we also had zone conference and we did an activity about gratitude. We wrote a bunch of things on a white board that we were grateful for and then one by one we erased things. The last thing written was The Atonement of Jesus Christ! It was just such a great activity for me to really realize what things are important. I know I have said this soooo many times, but seriously everything in our lives is centered around Christ. Because of Him, we can feel peace, joy and happiness!! I love my Savior and I know He lives!!
After zone conference, I started exchanges with the Sisters in Araraquara, so it was a bit of a travel! Then we had exchanges until Friday morning, then I traveled back to Jardinópolis. Exchanges were super fun!! I hit my 17th months mark while another Sister hit her 6 month mark so we celebrated together by getting açaí!!
Got to get the most açaí I can get these next two weeks until I come home lol!
And then the weekend...we had a BAPTISM!!! It was so nice and he was super excited!
And then to end the week, we had a thing here called a "multirão", directly translated to English it is a joint effort, honestly don't even know what the word would be in English haha! I'm seriously forgetting my English a bit, but I guess that's why people call me Brazilian lol!!
Anyway, we went out with some members and my mission President and his wife and the assistants came to help us out, and we visited a whole bunch of less active members. It was really cool and a fun activity for our branch!
Well, that's it for this week. A lot happened and I hope I explained everything well enough. I'm writing this email on the bus so it's kind of hard to type right now!
But I love you all! Hope you all have an amazing week!
Sister Findlay
